Marco Čaňo

The violinist Marco Čaňo hails from Moravia and predominantly draws inspiration from Moravian folklore and classical music which he incorporates into his work and interpretations. The desire to live for music was awakened in him when he was gifted his first violin as a child. At the age of 13 he became a faithful pupil of Václav Hudeček at his Summer Academy in Luhačovice and has literally not let go of the violin ever since. He further honed his musical skills in solo recitals, but also in street productions, which he dabbled with as a teenager. While studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, he could already be seen performing on stages around the world along with the Czech Philharmonic and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. He drew further inspiration from his grand masters: Jiří Bělohlávek, Semjon Byčkov, Enni Morricone, Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman at renowned concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden and Suntory Hall. Despite the beautiful and inspiring moments such experiences gave him, he decided to set out on his own journey, which meant starting again from scratch.
