Focused on Quincy Jones
During his impressive half-century career, the brilliant American musician, conductor, music producer, arranger, film composer, trumpeter Quincy Delight Jones, has been nominated 79 times for a Grammy Award, winning 27 times. He is perhaps best known as the producer of the best-selling album in the world - Thriller by Michael Jackson. He also produced the charity song We Are the World, which is the best-selling single of all time. The Focused On Quincy Jones project is a chance to showcase a cross-section of his older work, at a time when Quincy was working as an arranger in Count Basie's orchestra (I Can't Stop Lovin 'You), however it will also be a chance to hear his acclaimed film hits (Soul Bossa Nova). Last but not least, the programme will also feature tracks composed only recently in collaboration with his long-time friend Sammy Nestic.
